MAKE Connections

iTeach visits The Ron Clark Academy

This past Saturday, members of the Kennesaw State University iTeach Team took their ‘Maker Show’ on the road to the Ron Clark Academy in Southeast Atlanta. The Ron Clark Academy (RCA) is a highly-acclaimed, nonprofit middle school that operates as a model school, welcoming educators from around the world to participate in training.

iTeach provided a Maker experience for the students of RCA through a full day of rotations that included Stop-Motion Animation, Green Screen Video Production, Coding, and more! It was a wonderful day of learning for not only the students, but also for the iTeach staff, and teachers from RCA as well.

It’s clear that as #MakerEd gains momentum, we need to be prepared with rigorous, curriculum-aligned ways to capitalize on the power of technology to transform teaching, learning, and LIVING.

Being a ‘Maker’ doesn’t mean that you do everything right, or even the way someone expects you to…but rather that you know how to try hard, and think differently about problems to find solutions.

I’m pretty sure that The Ron Clark Academy expects just that of their students, so hats off to the ‘Makers’ of RCA!

The next time iTeach visits RCA, they will enter as learners…always aiming to improve their practice and deliver the best possible embedded coaching and modeling to the thousands of teachers and students they support.

THANK YOU to the RCA Students and Staff for partnering with iTeach to ‘MAKE Connections’!
