A Collaboration of Champions Charging Towards Excellence

I, Cheryl D. Pappy, am delighted to be a member of the trailblazing faculty at The Champion School. My early childhood years were spent on the campuses of Tuskegee University in Alabama and Cornell University in upstate New York. I later became a boarding student at The Westminster Schools in Atlanta and subsequently earned the Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering at Duke University and the Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Miami.

Several years after leaving corporate America, I became interested in teaching Mathematics. I purchased a Kumon Math and Reading franchise and taught both subjects for approximately five years. Because of my steadfast belief that all children can learn Mathematics, I was invited to work in The Options Program at Seward School (TOPS) in Seattle, Washington. After relocating to Atlanta, I began looking for new opportunities to share my passion for teaching, which led me to The Champion School in 2006. I have taught 8th grade and 6th grade Mathematics at The Champion School.
