Transfer Student Orientation

ksu02.jpgTransfer students should sign up for an orientation through their Owl Express. Students who attend new student orientations may be able to register for classes at orientation.

Advisors and department representatives will be available to assist students with registration for the first semester in Early Childhood Education (P-5), Birth through Kindergarten, Middle Grades Education (4-8), and History Education (6-12).

Pre-orientation advising: Transfer students should meet with an advisor in Education Student Services (KH 1314) prior to attending the transfer orientation to discuss appropriate first semester courses.

Please see the following links regarding additional pre-orientation preparation:

  • Criteria for admission to the teacher preparation program
  • How coursework will transfer to KSU: Registrar's Website
  • Students transferring from a University System of Georgia (USG) school should review their degree evaluation in DegreeWorks after they have received a transcript evaluation. For DegreeWorks instructional videos: see DegreeWorks.
  • For information regarding other education majors, please see the departments and program contacts for those degree programs.

Post-Orientation advising: If you are currently enrolled at another institution or your final transcript has not been evaluated from the last semester, in addition to meeting with an advisor prior to the orientation, you should make a follow-up appointment with an advisor as soon as your final transcript has been evaluated to confirm the courses for which you have registered at orientation.
