EECE Chair’s Welcome

Neporcha ConeWelcome to the Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education (EECE) in the Bagwell College of Education at Kennesaw State University. The department enjoys an excellent reputation, throughout the Georgia region and beyond, for producing high quality educators and leaders who value the cultural and linguistic resources of all schools and communities.

We are home to over 1500 students, offering programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels that emphasize the importance of equity, excellence and care. The department is committed to providing students with learning environments that foster the development of the knowledge, skills, and dispositions requisite for working effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.

Our world-class faculty and staff are dedicated scholars who actively participate in their various disciplines at regional, national, and international levels. Many of them serve on editorial boards, advisory committees, and are recipients of awards of excellence in teaching and service in their respective fields. As former classroom teachers, our faculty remain closely connected to the Birth through Kindergarten and P – 5 settings through research, professional development, and various projects. They are committed to helping candidates become teachers, leaders, and school-based professionals who teach, transform and inspire the next generation of students.

I invite you to take a look through the department’s offerings on this website to learn more about our faculty and the program in which you are interested.
