Program Information:

This program is designed for educators holding a Georgia PSC clear, renewable teaching certificate. If you do not hold a clear, renewable GA teaching certificate, please apply to the Online Teaching "Certificate" program.

The School of Instructional Technology & Innovation in the Bagwell College of Education now offers the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC) Online Teaching Endorsement (OTE) program. The purpose of the OTE is to prepare candidates to teach within K-12 online and blended learning environments (GaPSC Standards). Over the course of three semesters, candidates in the Online Teaching Endorsement program will complete three (3) online courses (9 credit hours), field experiences, and an electronic portfolio. Candidates are required to have access to a K-12 environment in their discipline for implementing required field experiences.

Program of Study

SEMESTER I - Summer
ITEC 7480 Introduction to Online Learning (3)
During this course, you will create a syllabus outlining an approved 4-6 week online or blended learning experience.

SEMESTER II - Fall
ITEC 7481 Designing & Developing Online Learning (3)
During this course, you will develop a 4-6 week online module that you will implement in the Spring with your K-12 students. 

SEMESTER III - Spring
ITEC 7482 Facilitating Online Learning (3)
During this course, you will implement the online module that you created in the Fall. Please make sure you are in a school environment that has adequate technology to perform this major field experience. 

TOTAL CREDITS - 9 hours
3 courses - 3 semesters - 1 year - Summer/Fall/Spring
