Pre-Service Teaching Certification

Candidates admitted to the Bagwell College of Education must complete the following steps, in order to obtain the required Pre-Service Certification, issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC). The Education Student Services (ESS) office is located in Kennesaw Hall, Suite 1314. Failure to submit a completed packet, in a timely manner, may result in a candidate’s inability to complete field experience hours required in a course for which they are registered.

  • Verification of Enrollment through MyPSC account – Admitted candidates must log into their MyPSC account, at mypsc.gapsc.com, and, under the “Program” tab, verify that they are enrolled in a program at KSU.  This step is only complete when the system shows “Enrollment Verified” next to the program.
  • PSC Application for Pre-Service Certification – Paper applications are only available through the ESS office.  Please note that a clear photocopy of a government issued ID or document is required for submission. Document must be notarized. Notaries are available in ESS, KSU Registrar, KSU Financial Aid (free of charge) or any bank (free of charge to account holders).
  • MyPSC account observation – Individual students are responsible for checking their personal MyPSC account until the Pre-Service Certificate are issued.  The submitted application packet will be available for viewing under the “Documents” tab; requirements for additional information, if necessary, will be available for viewing under the “Correspondence” tab; and the certificate, once issued, will be available for viewing and printing under the “Credentials” tab.

Please direct all questions to the KSU Education Certification Officer at bcoe_certification@kennesaw.edu.
