Secondary & Middle Grades Education

Our programs and courses focus on teachers for the middle (4-8) and secondary (6-12) grades. We are the home department for two initial certification programs: the B.S. in Middle Grades program and the Master of Arts in Teaching program. We also offer graduate programs (M.Ed., Ed.S., Ed.D). for those already certified and wishing to add to their knowledge and pedagogical expertise. For all of our degrees, we collaborate with other KSU departments related to each teaching field to develop our students as effective teachers.

Collaborative Graduate Program Office

The Office of Collaborative Graduate Programs serves as a source of information and support for students and faculty in all Ed.S. and Ed.D. programs (including the M.Ed. in Teacher Leadership). While programs across the BCOE are supported through collaboration with this office and their home departments, Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) and Teacher Leadership (TL) are housed solely in this office.
