Men of Color Empowerment Summit
The KSU Call Me MISTER (Mentors Instructing Students Towards Effective Role Models) Men of Color Empowerment Summit is a full-day professional development workshop devoted to uplifting and increasing men of color in education. The event will be held on Saturday, March 9th at the KSU Center. This is a free event that is open to local middle/high school students and freshmen who are interested in majoring in the field of education. Guests also include local community teachers, professors, and the MISTERs from Kennesaw State University, Georgia College and State University, and Georgia Southern. Our featured speaker will be Dr. Marcus Broadhead who is the author of Becoming Enough: An Educator’s Journey to Leadership. The goal of the Empowerment Summit is for participants to understand the importance of men of color in K-12 education and the need to make a positive impact in their local communities. Breakfast and lunch will be served. The deadline to register is Saturday, February 24th, 2024.

- 9:00 – 10:55 AM = Keynote Speaker – Dr. Marcus Broadhead (Accepting the Call … and Persevering!)
- 11:00 – 11:45 AM = Lunch and Networking
- 11:45 – 12:45 PM = Joseph Caldwell (Fueling Your ‘Why” to Lead and Inspire the Next Generation)
