Welcome to the Department of Instructional Technology (ITEC) in the Bagwell College of Education (BCOE). It is our vision to become nationally-recognized for innovative teaching and learning, for relevant research to advance the use of learning technologies in schools, for collaborative partnerships to strengthen technology integration in teacher preparation programs, and for preparing graduates who transform schools into digital age learning environments that engage students and facilitate participation in our global community.
The mission of the Department of Instructional Technology is to support teaching, learning, and leadership in P-12 schools by advancing the effective use of technology through educator preparation, professional service, and research.
M.Ed. Instructional Technology
The Masters Degree prepares you to integrate technology into your own teaching practice and to assist other educators in utilizing technology to improve teaching and learning.
Ed.S. Instructional Technology
The Specialist Degree prepares you with the knowledge and skills to serve in a variety of instructional technology leadership positions at the local, state, regional or national levels.
Online Teaching Endorsement
The Online Teaching Endorsement prepares educators to effectively teach in K-12 blended and online learning environments. This program is designed for educators in Georgia holding a Georgia PSC clear, renewable teaching certificate. If you do not hold a clear, renewable Georgia teaching certificate, please apply to the Online Teaching Certificate program.
Online Teaching Certificate
The Online Teaching Certificate prepares educators to effectively teach in K-12 blended and online learning environments. This program is designed for educators in or out of state who do NOT hold a Georgia PSC clear, renewable teaching certificate. If you hold a GA clear, renewable teaching certificate, please apply to the Online Teaching Endorsement.
ITEC Conversion Program
The Conversion Program allows "eligible" Georgia educators to add the certification in Instructional Technology to their existing professional certificate. Educators must pass the GACE in Instructional Technology and submit an electronic portfolio documenting evidence of mastery of the GaPSC Standards for Instructional Technology.
