KSU TRIO Programs partnered with Keep Paulding Beautiful for a Community Clean-Up Day at the Paulding Airport to serve their community and make a statement – the youth of Paulding and Polk are dedicated to the betterment of our community, our culture, and our future.
TRIO Student Recieves Cobb EMC Internship
Kayla will receive an internship at Cobb EMC through their Youth Leadership Program! The Youth Leadership Program gives current high school juniors the opportunity to develop leadership and networking skills, learn about their electric cooperative and earn potential scholarships.
TRIO Student Awarded 4 Local Scholarships!
KSU TRIO Graduate, Noelia Escutia, was awarded The Michelle Ruper State Farm Scholarship, The Cedartown Exchange Club Scholarship, The Cedartown Junior Service League- Matthew Prather Memorial Scholarship, and The Cedartown Kiwanis Club Scholarship during Honors Night.
TRIO Student Receives Black American Engineering Scholarship Award
Edward (Denzell) Dascanio, 2021 Summa Cum Laude Graduate of Georgia Highlands College, was accepted to the Georgia Institute of Technology to major in Engineering. To add to his major accomplishments, Denzell was awarded the Black American Engineering Scholarship Award!
HUB Posse Foundation Finalists
Two of Hiram Upward Bound’s Students have successfully made it to the second round of the Posse scholarship becoming successful leaders and preparing themselves to move mountains in life. Posse’s goal is to help students ensure their collegiate success.
Zy Harshaw NSLC Nomination
Rockmart High School Junior Zykarius Harshaw from the Kennesaw State University Rockmart-Cedartown Upward Bound Program has been selected to participate in the Council for Opportunity in Education’s 31st Annual National Student Leadership Congress.
KSU TRIO ACT Boot Camp
KSU TRIO Programs are hosting an ACT Test Prep Boot Camp that aims to not only prepare high school students for the big test that will determine their college entrance, but they are also working to prepare students for life in the community.
Drones Summer Program
TRIO Students were part of a drone assembly class in a summer academy offered to students in KSU Upward Bound programs. Students were refining their drone-handling skills, but they were also getting support in preparing for and succeeding in college.
Drones and Workplace Skills
Students from two Paulding high schools took away more from a recent summer program than how to pilot an unmanned drone aircraft. They also learned about the benefits of knowing how to work in teams as they prepare for life after high school.
KSU TRIO Delegate to CFML 2019
HHS Upward Bound Student, Jillian Rodriguez was a Delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Lowell, MA on June 23-25, 2019. The CFML is an honors-only program for high school students who want to become physicians or go into medical research fields.
PCSD Grad Rate Increases
The Paulding County School District’s graduation rate climbed to 88.8 percent in 2019, an increase of 2.5 percentage points over last year and nearly seven percentage points higher than the state average.

Kennesaw State University’s Paulding Site has a staff of three people, and that small group is making a significant difference for local high school students who want to attend college.
TRIO's 1st Year of Success
KSU's Paulding Site celebrates its' first year of success in 2019. In fall 2017, Kennesaw State University made institutional history in external research funding. This article in KSU's research magazine, "The Investigator", details KSU TRIO's first year on the books.
KSU and Dallas Courthouse
In 2017, KSU was approved to lease space in the Historic Dallas Courthouse for expanding operations to provide information and financial opportunities for students.
