Financial Need Based

L.M. Awtrey, Jr. Scholarship Fund – The Luther M. Reeves Scholarship provides support to full-time undergraduate or graduate students who are residents of Cherokee County and demonstrate merit, potential and financial need. Strictly Financial Need Based  

Jackie Dobbins Cobb Memorial Scholarship – The Jackie Dobbins Cobb Memorial Scholarship provides support to outstanding full-time sophomores or juniors who graduated from Paulding County High School who are pursuing a degree in elementary education. Financial Need Based  

Leitalift Foundation/Clarice Bagwell Annual Scholarship – The Leitalift Foundation, Tommy Bagwell and KSU are joint sponsors of this annual scholarship for graduate students in Bagwell College of Education. Strictly Financial Need Based  

Lillian Carr Grizzard Memorial Scholarship Fund – The Lillian Carr Grizzard Memorial Scholarship provides support to students who demonstrate financial need and show academic promise while pursuing an undergraduate degree. Strictly Financial Need Based

Sara Moss Bentley Scholarship Fund – The Sara Moss Bentley Scholarship supports full-time students who demonstrate financial need and show academic achievement while pursuing a degree. Financial Need Based  

Selwyn Walker Foundation Scholarship (Education) – The Selwyn Walker Foundation, Inc. Scholarship provides support to full-time nursing students in good academic standing with a preference given to students who live in Fayette County. Strictly Financial Need Based  

Milton M. Ratner Scholarship – The Milton M. Ratner Foundation Scholarship provides support to full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate students in good academic standing who demonstrate financial need. Strictly Financial Need Based  

Toby Hopper Endowed Scholarship for Single Mothers – The Toby Hopper Endowed Scholarship for Single Mothers offers financial assistance to single, non-traditional female students, who provide major financial support to their custodial children, and are pursuing a degree in teacher education. Strictly Financial Need Based  

W. C. Mitchell Memorial Scholarship Fund – The W.C. Mitchell Memorial Scholarship supports full- or part-time students who demonstrate financial need, show academic promise, and are in good academic standing while pursuing a degree. Strictly Financial Need Based

Bagwell College of Education Alumni Club Scholarship – The Bagwell College of Education Alumni Club Scholarship provides support to one or more full-time student teaching candidates to aid in the successful completion of the student teaching experience. Applicants must provide recommendations from a collaborating teacher and university supervisor from previous field experience. Financial Need Preferred  

Bob M. Prillaman Scholarship – The Bob M. Prillaman Scholarship provides financial support to full- or part-time students in good academic standing who demonstrate financial need and show academic promise. Financial Need Preferred  

Guy Northcutt Scholarship – The Guy Northcutt Scholarship provides financial support to students in good academic standing with financial need who graduated from Marietta High School. Financial Need Preferred  

Hazel and Morgan McNeel Memorial Scholarship – The Hazel and Morgan McNeel Memorial Scholarship provides support to full- or part-time undergraduate students in good academic standing who demonstrate financial need. Financial Need Preferred  

James and Shirley Castleberry Endowed Scholarship (Bagwell College of Education) – The James and Shirley Castleberry Endowed Scholarship provides support to a full- or part-time student pursuing a degree in business, education, or science and mathematics. Financial Need Preferred  

Ruby Lee Pace Memorial Scholarship – The Ruby Lee Pace Memorial Scholarship supports full- or part-time students in good academic standing who are pursuing a degree in the teaching profession. Financial Need Preferred  

Louise and Alan Sellars Scholarship Fund – The Louise and Alan Sellars Scholarship provides support to full- or part-time undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need and show academic promise. Financial Need Preferred  

Margaret Giles Garrison Scholarship – The Margaret G. Garrison Scholarship provides support to graduates of North Cobb High School. The scholarship shall be given to students with financial need, academic potential and a record of community service. Financial Need Preferred  

Mary Jo Isakson Memorial Scholarship – The Mary Jo Isakson Scholarship provides financial support to full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate students in good academic standing who demonstrate financial need. Financial Need Preferred  

Shuler B. Antley Memorial Scholarship – The Shuler B. Antley Scholarship was established in 1982 by Mrs. Sam P. Hensley and Louis C. Vreeland in memory of Shuler B. Antley's devotion to education. Financial Need Preferred  

Nina C. and John S. Frey Jr. Memorial Scholarship – The Nina C. and John S. Frey Jr. Memorial Scholarship recognizes excellence in full- or part-time undergraduate students returning to school to pursue a degree in education. Students with financial need are given priority and scholarship is renewable if student meets criteria requirements. Financial Need Preferred  

W. Wyman Pilcher, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund – The W. Wyman Pilcher Jr. Memorial Scholarship provides support to full- or part-time students in good academic standing who demonstrate financial need and show academic promise. Finanical Need Preferred  

William W. Marett, Jr. Scholarship Fund – The William W. Marett Jr. Scholarship supports graduate or undergraduate full- or part-time students in good academic standing, who show financial need. Financial Need Preferred

Merit Based

Dr. Linda B. Akanbi Annual Scholarship for Education - It is the Donor’s preference that students with the following qualifications as determined by the Scholarship Selection Committee receive the scholarship:

  • Enrolled full or part-time in the Bagwell College of Education
  • Pursuing a BS in Education
  • Membership in organizations such as the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority or
  • Black Teachers Matter student organization, whose missions seek to advance the needs of populations historically underrepresented in education preparatory programs.
  • Minimum 2.8 GPA
  • Undergraduate
  • Scholarship is renewable to the same student through graduation.

Dr. Mary Ursits Student Assistance Scholarship - One scholarship awarded to a single parent undergraduate student or a child of a single parent, one awarded to a non-traditional student. Each must meet the following additional requirements: Actively pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education(P-5) or a B-K Traditional program. Full-time Accepted into the Teacher Education Program in the Bagwell College of Education minimum GPA of 2.75

Dr. Mary Ursits Art Education Scholarship - Each must meet the following additional requirements: A Full time student. Accepted into the Art Education Program in the College of the Arts, Beginning his or her senior year of the year-long cohort practicum experience and a Minimum GPA of 3.0

Harry Barfield Family Fund Scholarship – The Barfield Family Fund Scholarship recognizes full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate students in good academic standing. Merit Based and renewable  

Bernard Osher Re-entry Scholarship – The Bernard Osher Re-entry Scholarship was established by the Bernard Osher Foundation, The scholarship will provide support to students between the ages of 25 and 50 years returning to college to complete their education. Students must have a minimum 5 year gap in their college studies and be returning to complete their first bachelor's degree. Merit based  

Carolyn Stovall Scholarship – The Carolyn Stovall Scholarship provides support to students who are in good academic standing and promise. Strictly Merit Based  

Fred & Drucilla Beck Kiwanis Scholarship – The Fred & Drucilla Beck Kiwanis Scholarship Fund was established in 1990 to award scholarships to full time students who are actively engaged in community service while pursuing a degree at KSU. Strictly Merit Based  

G.F. Wan Memorial Scholarship – The G.F. Wan Memorial Scholarship provides support to a deserving undergraduate international student preferably majoring in education. Chinese students are given preference. Strictly Merit Based  

Horace W. Sturgis Scholarship – The Horace W. Sturgis Scholarship provides support to full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate students in good academic standing. Strictly Merit Based  

Jack N. Bentley Endowed Scholarship – The Jack N. Bentley Memorial Endowed Scholarship provides financial assistance to full- or part-time students who are employees of, or the children or grandchildren of, employees of Marietta Drapery & Window Covering. Strictly Merit Based  

Jane McNeel Bentley Scholarship – The Jane McNeel Bentley Scholarship provides support to full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate students who are in good academic standing and pursuing a degree. Strictly Merit Based  

John W. Edwards, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund – The John W. Edwards Jr. Memorial Scholarship recognizes excellence in undergraduate students pursuing a degree. Strictly Merit Based  

KSU African American Scholarship – The Kennesaw State University African-American Scholarship provides support to full-time undergraduate students who are of African-American ancestry and are in good academic standing. Strictly Merit Based  

KSU Foundation Fellows (Bagwell College of Education) – The KSU Foundation offers fellowships of $1,000 annually to outstanding incoming graduate students at KSU. Fellowships will be awarded to the same student for a maximum of two consecutive years of their study toward a master’s degree, as long as the student is enrolled full time and maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA. Must be enrolled 2 semesters per year. Strictly Merit Based  

Original Great American Chocolate Chip Cookie, Co. Scholarship Fund – The Original Great American Chocolate Chip Cookie Co. Scholarship supports full-time students in good academic standing who show academic promise while pursuing a degree. Strictly Merit Based  

Phi Kappa Phi/Dean Don Forrester Undergraduate Annual Scholarship – The Phi Kappa Phi Annual Scholarship was established in 2002, by the KSU Chapter of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, on the occasion of its 10th anniversary to support outstanding sophomores and juniors in the Phi Kappa Phi KSU Chapter. Strictly Merit Based  

Project 2400 – Student must have attended a minimum of 7 of 8 total SAT Project 2400 pre classes offered at their Cobb County high school and be admitted to Kennesaw State University. Strictly Merit Based  

Richard Grenvicz Scholarship Fund – The Richard Grenvicz Scholarship provides support to full-time students in good academic standing who demonstrate academic promise while pursuing an undergraduate degree. Strictly Merit Based  

Thomas Raymond Foster/Holy Knights of Columbus #9792 Scholarship Fund – The Thomas Raymond Foster/Holy Family Knights of Columbus Scholarship is available to members of the Knights of Columbus, their children, or members of Holy Family Parish. Strictly Merit Based

Special Populations

Thomas Raymond Foster/Holy Knights of Columbus #9792 Scholarship Fund – The Thomas Raymond Foster/Holy Family Knights of Columbus Scholarship is available to members of the Knights of Columbus, their children, or members of Holy Family Parish. Strictly Merit Based  

William S. & Betsy B. Duffey Collegiate Recovery Endowed Scholarship – The William S. and Betsy B. Duffey Collegiate Recovery Endowed Scholarship has been established by The Honorable William S. Duffey, Jr. and his wife Betsy B. Duffey to provide scholarships to students who are accepted and have been enrolled into the KSU University Collegiate Recovery Center for a minimum of 6 months and are active in a 12 step program.


 

If you are interested in applying for any of the scholarships listed above, you must process your application through the KSU Scholarship Manager. The application process usually opens in November and closes in March of the following year. Award notifications are sent through KSU student email accounts.
